AREAS OF INTERVENTION

Social Inclusion

In the area of social inclusion, the Intermunicipal Community of Tâmega e Sousa is responsible for:

 

In the field of intermunicipal social strategies:

  • Participating in the organisation of resources and the planning of responses and social facilities at the intermunicipal level, exercising the competences of the intermunicipal platforms and ensuring the representation of the entities that are part of them;
     
  • Drawing up the Intermunicipal Social Charter to define priorities and map social responses;
     
  • Ensuring the coordination between the intermunicipal social charter and the priorities defined at national and municipal level;
     
  • Monitoring and participating in municipal social networks.
     

 

In the field of social reintegration of young people and adults:

  • Participating in actions or projects at municipal or intermunicipal level, respectively, that promote the social reintegration of young people and adults into the community, namely:

- Setting up and organising pools of beneficiary entities interested in collaborating in the enforcement of criminal sanctions and educational tutelary measures involving community service.

- Setting up and organising pools of properties for the temporary accommodation of former inmates, to support them in the initial period of adaptation to freedom.
 

  • Proposing the signing of cooperation agreements or protocols with bodies that are part of the direct and indirect administration of the State, private social solidarity institutions, legal persons of public utility or non-governmental organisations, specifically with regard to the coordination and management of the strategy of actions to be developed, as well as the necessary human, property and financial resources.


 

In the field of violence against women and domestic violence:

  • Proposing actions or projects to prevent and combat violence against women and domestic violence and to protect and assist its victims, which contribute to the pursuit of equality and non-discrimination, including intersectional discrimination, namely:

- Proposing actions or projects to raise awareness and provide information on violence against women and domestic violence D, in conjunction with local partners, specifically within the scope of Article 78 of Law 112/2009, of 16 September, in its current wording, without prejudice to the provisions of Article 80 of the same law.

- Proposing, implementing and monitoring actions or projects, in conjunction with other entities with competences in this area, without prejudice to the provisions of Article 80 of Decree-Law 112/2009, of 16 September.
 

  • Participating in the promotion and proposing the creation, organisation and operation of care structures that ensure, in an integrated and continuous manner, the personalised assistance, support and referral of victims and their minor or adult children with disabilities who depend on them, with a view to their protection and assistance, under the terms of Article 61 of Law 112/2009, of 16 September, and the other responses included in the national support network for victims of domestic violence, also provided for in that law and in Regulatory Decree 2/2018, of 24 January.


 

In the field of support for crime victims:

  • Proposing actions or projects to support crime victims, namely:

- Providing information to crime victims about their rights and the support they can use, namely through the Comissão de Proteção às Vítimas de Crimes [Commission for the Protection of Crime Victims].

- Proposing the creation and organisation of local structures to provide assistance, support, referral and temporary accommodation for crime victims, namely in conjunction with the Comissão de Proteção às Vítimas de Crimes [Commission for the Protection of Crime Victims].
