Baião

The municipality of Baião has an area of 174.53 km2 and just over 17,500 inhabitants.

 

It is one of the four low-density municipalities in the Tâmega e Sousa sub-region, and shows weaknesses in several indicators, namely considerable levels of ageing, a low activity rate and high levels of unemployment.

 

The main economic activities in the municipality are the primary sector and services.
